Global innovations company 3M has developed Green Corps Flexible Grinding Discs to offer the highest abrasive performance with minimal vibration and reduced noise levels. Each disc is only 0.32cm thick, giving the flexibility necessary to reduce hand-arm vibration and increase operator safety. Green Corps Flexible Grinding Discs incorporate 3M™ Cubitron™ Abrasive Grain for a fast cut and a consistent finish on all metals.
Reducing hand-arm vibration has become a pressing problem for many employers since the introduction in the UK of the Physical Agents (Vibration) Directive, which came into force in July 2005. 3M is helping employers to meet the new regulations – which have reduced acceptable levels of hand-arm vibration by as much as 37 percent – by promoting a range of specially designed abrasive systems.
“Under the new law, employers must take responsibility for minimising the risks of vibration,” explains Jonathan McGargle, Business Development Manager at 3M Abrasive Systems. “But there is no reason why, with the right products, these regulations should lead to a drop in operator output or reduced abrasive performance. Products like 3M Green Corps Flexible Grinding Discs have been specially designed to increase work efficiency, durability and through-put, as well as reduce vibration and noise levels.”
3M Green Corps Flexible Grinding Discs are suitable for a wide range of industrial applications including weld and flame cut grinding, removal of weld spatter, descaling and removing and cleaning gates and risers. The range is available in two grades and four sizes.
